Earth dam construction in the Ardjem River canyon. The irrigation complex consisting of a reservoir of volume 280,000,000 cu.m. The Ardjem River diversion was solved by a tunnel 444 m long and 8 m of clear opening and a bottom outlet of a 2.5 m clearance.
The water intake with the bottom outlet intake structure and the control building are located at the dam slope.
The spillway system is of a well type consisting of a vertical shaft, a tunnel of 10 m clear opening, a chute and a ski jump. The dam height is 95 m.

A concrete gravity dam with four discharge fields. Dam length 112 m; in the concrete part 54,000 cu.m of placed concrete. A filled part 300 m long. The dam height 23.5 m. The diversion channel (the headwater channel of 2 km, the spillway channel of 4.8 km) is divided by the engine room. The plant is designed as a multi purpose structure (energy supply flood control, water supply, recreation purposes, and drainage of surplus flood water).
The reservoir with embankments near the dam makes a lake of16.6 sq.km surface. Embankment length 22.5 km. |
